What is an Algorithm
Dialogue
SUMMARY
Algorithms are everywhere, and they have been since the “information revolution” of the last century. But what are they, and how might architects use them? This dialogue explored several ways of thinking about algorithms, including as recipes, black boxes, lines of code, and machinic assemblages, and suggested many ways architects can use them in creative practice. It also discussed key approaches to engaging critically with algorithms, aiming to raise the level of algorithmic literacy among architects.
