SUMMARY
This dialogue examined Alvin Boyarsky’s tenure as chairman of the Architectural Association (1971–1990). Known for his charismatic teaching and keen eye for emerging talent, Boyarsky fostered an environment that challenged orthodoxies and made the AA a hub of architectural experimentation and debate. Figures such as Bernard Tschumi, Rem Koolhaas, and Zaha Hadid passed through the school during this period. The dialogue asked what lessons can be drawn from this pivotal era, what remains of its influence today, and how the AA has continued to evolve beyond it.
