BIOGRAPHY
Erik Herrmann is co-director of Outpost Office and an associate professor of architecture at Ohio State’s Knowlton School. His practice designs installations, events, and buildings that challenge architecture’s core tenets of permanence and accumulation by proposing provisional, open-ended, and contingent environments. The work of Outpost Office has been exhibited internationally, including at the Chicago Architecture Biennial, Art Omi, and the Wexner Center for the Arts.
Curtis Roth is an Associate Professor at the Knowlton School of Architecture at The Ohio State University. His research examines new formations of subjectivity within networks of computation and labor. His work has been published in E-Flux, Thresholds, Perspecta, and has been exhibited at the ZKM Karlsruhe, the Venice Biennale, and elsewhere.
Michael Young is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of Graduate Studies at The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at the Cooper Union. He is the author of The Estranged Object (Graham Foundation 2015) and Reality Modeled After Images (Routledge 2022). His practice Young & Ayata have received the Progressive Architecture award, the Design Vanguard Award, the Young Architects Prize, the AIANY Honor Award, a first-place prize for the design of the Bauhaus Museum in Dessau, Germany, and a first-place prize for the New Agricultural Management Institute, Gyeongsangbuk-do, S. Korea. Michael was the recipient of the 2019-20 Rome Prize from the American Academy of Rome.
