This dialogue addressed “Environmental Design,” a slippery concept that first emerged as a holistic response to the sociopolitical and environmental challenges of the mid-20th century. It considered how an interdisciplinary approach to the design and planning of the built environment has evolved as both a pedagogical and practical concern. It examined the implications of this approach for design education in the 21st century and considered its potential outcomes.
