SUMMARY

This dialogue addressed the “debate” that has emerged in architectural discourse in recent decades between two camps, provisionally characterized as indifference versus speculation, or perhaps low versus high resolution. It examined the principal protagonists in this debate, particularly Michael Meredith and Mark Foster Gage, as well as the practitioners associated with each position and the architectural tendencies they represent. The dialogue considered the arguments advanced by each side and examined the differences between the two positions.
