BIOGRAPHY

Ruo Jia is an architect/artist/theorist/historian/educator. She is the founder and director of the research-based practice IfWorks. Her research focuses on constructing a decolonizing postmodern materialist space through the interweaving of “Chinese Experimental Architecture” Or “French Poststructuralist Theory,” which expands to envisioning the possibilities of Asian Feminist Architecture, and Posthumanist Sustainability.

Emma Letizia Jones is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at Hong Kong University. She examines the translations occurring between architecture and its drawn and printed representations, and the relationship between books and buildings in globalised architectural culture during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. She is currently researching the roles of Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific region in the early global building publication and prefabrication trades.

Ryan Scavnicky (Scav) is a storyteller using memes, TikToks, group chats, Twitch broadcasts, Discord servers, print media, and the Extra Office YouTube Channel to create insightful commentary by challenging the status quo of disciplinary boundaries. Scav is an assistant professor at Marywood University School of Architecture, where he launched and now coordinates the groundbreaking Virtual Architecture program.

Joseph Bedford is Associate Professor of History and Theory at Virginia Tech and the founding director of the Architecture Exchange, a platform for theoretical exchange in architecture.
